This was a very tight area in which to work. They were in the gazebo and I was just outside the gazebo photographing into it. I brought my potted plants to balance the group and fill in the dead space. I use junipers because they grow long and hide the pot. I placed other plants behind the junipers to give the layered effect.

Everything was set up before they came out to the gazebo; I even had my assistant sit for a test exposure. I was there to create lasting memories of this day and not to keep them from their festivities. As soon as I was ready, I had everyone come to the gazebo and placed them in position and just worked for expressions.

Consistent Footwear. If the portrait is full length, ensure that stockings and footwear are consistent with the intent of the portrait.
